I don’t know how many of you have heard of Tony Lama, the shoes and boots designer who started his enterprise in 1911, in El Paso, Texas. This surely explains the cowboy look of his footwear, but the added elegance and modernity makes them a good choice for a wide category of clients, both men and women. For the sake of shoe history, Tony Lama’s parents immigrated from Italy to US, where little Tony was born in 1887. He was passionate about shoes since childhood. At the age of 11 he worked as an apprentice at a shoemaker in Syracuse, and this is how he got to learn the secrets of the shoes manufacturing and leather processing trade. In the beginning, he was focused mostly on repairing shoes and boots, but later on, after he served in the army at the Cavalry, he started making Western boots. He became famous among ranchers and cowboys who were in big demand for custom made boots, and convinced by the quality offered by Tony Lama, they became regular customers. In the first year of his business, Tony Lama and his apprentice manufactured a total of 20 pairs of boots. Since then, the shoe making business evolved to the impressive figure of 750 pairs of boots per day, which they started to produce in 1961, after expanding their operation which several new operation sites and bigger headquarters.

Back in 1989, Max Azria, a fashion designer, founded the clothing line called BCBG. BCBG shoes are part of this line. Born in America, the BCBG shoes were supposed to make Europe feel a bit of the American fashion trends. While the headquarters of BCBG are in New York City, the shoes entered UK thanks to the retail chain of Harvey Nichols.
Amongst the Hollywood celebrities who helped boosting the popularity of BCBG shoes are Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, or Lindsay Lohan. This was possible due to the fact that the BCBG line includes elegant, high heel shoes and sandals, making them suitable for the look and feel of a Hollywood star.
If we only think at the Lurex Leather sandal, available in two colors: silver and gold, with its adjustable cross strap with icon hardware on buckle, and with an approximate heel height of 4”, you can see that this type of footwear is suitable for both day and evening, because it matches day dresses as well as more elegant, evening outfits. Indeed, BCBG Max Azria shoes are elegant, but if you’re a sport type of woman, you’d need to combine them with other shoe brands (like Born shoes, for instance), in order to have the wardrobe of your dreams.
As much as I adore Born shoes, I have to admit that there are a few state-of-the art techniques in manufacturing shoes, and especially soles, that amaze me with their simplicity, and yet functionality that can give so much comfort to walking. Aerosoles shoes are a very good example. From the Aerosoles Sky Scrapers which come in black, pink or green fabric and can be bought with as little as $36.95, to the purple leather Frillet of Sole, a classic round-toe flat shoe with edge, which has an intricate cut-out leather design with contrasting mesh panels. Bigfoot is that invisible creature which was never seen but which left huge footprints (can you imagine Bron shoes made for that Bigfoot?) which made people try to find it.
A press release stated that Bigfoot was found in Georgia, in the woods in the Northern part of the region.
Even Barrack Obama had something to say about this discovery: “Bigfoot is the change we have been waiting for.”
Is Bigfoot found, or is it just another hoax? So far, nobody can tell if the photos posted on the internet are real or only Photoshop manipulations to induce people into the error or believing Bigfoot was real and not just a fantasy of a creative mind.

If Bigfoot was really found, then who’s going to design shoes for his successors? This can be a challenge for all big shoe designers all over the world: once Bigfoot found, why should it wake barefoot?
If you are a fancy woman, then you probably know how big is the challenge of finding both elegance and comfort in the same pair of shoes. There are many elegant shoes which can easily kill your feet when you attempt walking on them, not to mention that dancing or running is absolutely out of the question. In the same time, there are shoes so comfortable that you fell like walking barefoot, but very few persons would dare to wear them at a party or in official meetings.

The Real Shoe Carnival
Shoe Carnival is not my invention at all. It is a big shoes retailer in the United States, selling famous brands shoes such as Skechers, Nike, Mudd, Victoria Spenser, Classified, Sideout and many others. Their shoe range comprises men’s shoes, women’s shoes, footwear for sports, athletic apparel and kids shoes. Shoe Carnival have a website, but it is only for presenting their shoes collections. Online purchases are not possible, so if you like something, you’ll need to find a Shoe Carnival location near you. Luckily they have outlets in almost all states, from Idaho to Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania or Florida. The map with the states where they are present is published on the Shoe Carnival website.
Nothing is better than a good pair of hot kicks: besides the fact that they help you practice the sports you love without worrying about your feet, hot kicks are simply hot, which means that they attract all looks and cause the envy of all your friends.
Leaving aside the fact that my favorites are Born shoes, let’s take for example, my Air Jordans. In case you don’t know, Air Jordans are the top selling signature shoes for basketball that Nike has ever produced. Mine are Air Jordans 11, but there are also some other nice models, such as Jordan Dub Zeros or the Air Jordan Fusion series which comprises three models. Aren’t these all hot kicks to chase the chicks?
Hot Kicks In Black and White
Moving into my locker, but still staying in the hot kicks area, I’m pleased to introduce to you my brand new Converse Weapon kicks, in black and white, suitable for nice dancing evenings in the clubs. My shoes, like all others in this series made of rich leather and suede and are lined on the inside with leather lining, which makes them so good to wear. These are some of my most comfortable and friendly hot kicks I like so much.
Hot Kicks and Hip Hop Tricks
Sometimes I go to hip hop concerts: not that I am very fond of that music gender, but I believe this kind of music has a real soul and the artists can create a magic atmosphere. Of course, in such occasions I like to dress in hip hop outfits, and this includes also the footwear. My Bathing Ape shoes can make every hip hop fan jealous, because they are all shiny and new, in their colors combination of green, yellow and electric blue. Their squeaky soles are bright green and they sparkle in the dark of the concert halls, while I jump in row with my friends.
Have you ever visited an online shoe store? If you did so, you probably had the same feeling I have whenever I enter an online show store to seek for some new boots, or sandals, or slippers. Many times, I just look for some leather accessories, such as belts or gloves to match a pair of shoes I already have. Since some of my footwear comes from famous collections, they have such colors that are very hard to find elsewhere. This is why I always have to return the the same online shoe store where I’ve made my previous purchase and get the new one.
The hardest time is when I get a famous footwear coupon and I use it. You’d say that this is actually the best situation possible: to get nice, branded shoes, for less than half the price.
